Dear Hellyer Families,
As the principal of Hellyer Elementary, it is an honor to become part of the Eagle Community at Hellyer and the Franklin-McKinley School District. As a product of public education, my life was deeply enhanced by my classroom teachers. Not only did they provide me with a sound foundation, but also inspired me to pursue a career in education. I have been an educator for 12 years. Most recently I was an assistant principal in the Perris Elementary School District for the last 4 years. My background also includes 8 years as a classroom teacher teaching 2nd-6th grades.
The Hellyer staff is dedicated to providing our students with a high quality and meaningful academic experience that will prepare them for college. It is our belief that a strong collaborative partnership with parents and families is key to the academic success of our students. We encourage you to become an active participant by volunteering, joining our School Site Council, the English Learner Advisory Committee as well as attending and supporting our school events.
I encourage you to speak to your children every day about their school day and have them share with you about what they have learned. Another way parents can help us is to ensure their students have excellent attendance. When your child attends school every day, you instill in your child the importance of education. There is a direct correlation between regular school attendance and student success.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with you for the school year. Together, we will make G.W. Hellyer Elementary School an even better place for students to learn and grow.
Your partner in education,
