It is with heartfelt words that I write to inform you that as of June 28, 2019, I will be leaving the position of Principal of Hellyer Elementary School and relocating to San Diego County.
I want to thank each and every one of you for all your support, and for entrusting me with your children for the 2018-2019 school year. I am honored and feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to be part of the Hellyer Elementary community. It has been my good fortune to experience a wonderful partnership with the students, staff and families in our community. Hellyer has been a very special place for me and I will miss everyone.

July 4th- No school for the 4th of July Holiday. The school day will be held from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. School Appropriate Free Dress. Everyday, a morning snack and lunch will be served. If your child is taking district transportation, pick-up and returns times are shared below. Los Arboles: pickup 8:10 am return 2:40 pm Parents must stay with their child until h/she is picked-up in the morning, and must meet the bus at the designed return time.
Thank you Hellyer families who participated in and attended the Ice Cream Social & Parent fundraiser on May 31st. We had a great turn out for hot dogs, corn on the cob, Ice cream sundae's and other goodies. Our annual Spring into Summer festivities will help kick off next years projects, field trips and other items that our school needs. (click the headline above for our photo gallery)
Summer School will be in Session at Hellyer from 8:30-2:00 for selected students from four of our FMSD schools. Please remember to drive carefully around our campus. Our First day back will be August 20th, 2018.

The Fall Carnival raised just over $1,000 towards the purchase of a new speaker system for the cafeteria. Kids & Parents had fun at the booths, got prizes and brought food & drink. Thank you to Everyone for their support. Another fun event is coming up on Nov 21st. Stay tuned!

At 5:30 on the 25th, we (or rather our highest donating classroom/top student) will be cutting Dr. Franks' hair, (each $100 = 1/2 inch of hair, up to one foot, after that... bangs, tips or head get dyed blue. ) We are hoping to raise money mini school improvement possibilities are: A new marquee, library chairs, improved sound system in cafeteria.
